Comprehensive Dental Care in a Warm & Welcoming Environment

At the dental office of Harkins & Silliman, we provide our patients with a range of general and cosmetic dental services. Our doctors have the skills and knowledge necessary to provide every patient with the care they need. With a warm and welcoming environment, our patients feel comfortable and can ask any questions they may have about their dental treatments.

Services we offer include, but are not limited to:

Routine Dental Cleaning

It is suggested that patients should be seen for a dental cleaning and routine exam every 6 months or as recommended by Dr. Harkins & Silliman. During the cleaning, plaque and calculus will be removed from your teeth leaving behind a bright and polished smile. X-rays may need to be taken to help detect possible cavities in between teeth that cannot be seen by the naked eye.

Periodontal Services

Though your mouth may feel healthy and you may not have any symptoms, periodontal disease can progress without a patient knowing. If left untreated, periodontal disease can destroy the supporting bones in your mouth. This is why early treatment and prevention is so important! Our doctors and staff will make sure you are receiving the highest quality of care that will assist in preventing periodontal disease from developing.

Digital X-rays

This technology allows for rapid development and viewing of teeth and bone on chair mounted monitors to permit better understanding of treatment options. The amount of radiation is a fraction of the amount required with traditional film and that reduction in exposure improves safety of our patients and staff.

Bio Horizons TeethXpress

Are you tired of your dentures constantly moving out of place? Harkins & Silliman Family Dentistry is now a Bio Horizons TeethXpress provider! BioHorizons offers patients with dentures a permanently secure fit. In as little as one visit, our dentist will surgically apply dental implants and post that your modified dentures can securely affix to. Cosmetic Restorations (White Bonded Fillings)

If you dislike the look that old silver restorations give your mouth, white fillings are the perfect solution! Your old silver restorations will be replaced with tooth colored fillings, resulting in a smile you can be proud to show off. White fillings are also bonded to the natural tooth structure increasing the overall strength of the tooth, unlike silver (amalgam) fillings that have no bonding properties.

Crowns and Bridges

Crowns are necessary when a tooth is severely damaged or has suffered from advanced decay and cannot be fixed with bonded filling material. Crowns cover the remaining tooth and restore its function, strength, and esthetics. Several crown material options are available and our doctors will discuss these on an individual basis depending on the area of the mouth that needs to be restored.

Bridges can be utilized when tooth loss occurs due to gum disease, decay, or injury. The loss of the tooth can create greater problems for your dental health if it is not corrected. The teeth next to the missing tooth (or teeth) can begin to move and result in pain, discomfort, and can look unsightly. With bridges, your doctor will close any gaps in your mouth. The bridge looks and acts just like natural teeth, is permanently cemented, and helps to maintain the position of the rest of your teeth.

Teeth Whitening

Soon after starting treatment at our office for teeth whitening, you will start to see a whiter and brighter smile. With our whitening services the effects of coffee, smoking, tea, and other causes for tooth discoloration, will slowly disappear leaving a beautiful white smile. Schedule an appointment for a consultation with your dentist to see if you're a candidate for teeth whitening.

Dentures

Complete dentures are used to replace a person's teeth when they are all missing. Removable dentures are designed to restore the health, function, and beauty of your smile. They are crafted to fit your individual mouth comfortably and snugly. When in place, dentures can:

  • Help restore your ability to eat and speak
  • Replace your missing teeth
  • Prevent facial sagging
  • Improve the appearance of your smile
We can create and place your complete dentures in just a few visits. Your dentures will be made to look and feel like natural teeth so that you can feel confident every time you smile. We invite you to call our office today if you are missing teeth to learn more about the benefits of dentures.

Veneers

Veneers are a thin porcelain or ceramic restoration that is applied and bonded to the front of your existing tooth structure. Porcelain veneers are an excellent choice for correcting gaps between teeth, crooked or misaligned teeth, or discoloration resistant to dental bleaching.

When applied to the tooth, a veneer is virtually undetectable. Due to its thin nature, the veneer will take on the natural coloration of your teeth and allows us to be quite conservative in removing tooth structure.
